A doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, an informational support to individuals and their families before, during, and after childbirth. The word "doula"comes from the ancient Greek term meaning "a woman who serves." The role of a doula is to assist and advocate for the birthing person and their partner, offering continuous support throughout the childbirth process.
